The Problem

There were many issues with street lighting before replacing it with street lights equipped with Meanwell LED drivers and Philips LEDs.
First of all, some road sections have dark areas due to insufficient lighting brightness, so the frequency of pedestrian or vehicle accidents under this street light is significantly higher than that at other street lights.
Second, the original street lights constantly need to be repaired and replaced due to faults, and the government invests most in this area every year. In addition, due to the poor PF value of old lamps, their lighting consumes a lot of electricity, wasting energy and driving up costs.
Third, the original lamps have almost no light distribution design. The area under the street lamp is very bright and the area away from the street lamp is very dark. These greatly affect the visual comfort and attractiveness of drivers and pedestrians.

The Solutions

This road section’s street light lamp upgrading project employed Meanwell LED drivers to supply reliable power and Philips LEDs to replace the old lamps in order to improve the illumination effect. The new solution have better performance in light distribution design, good power factor, long lifetime, etc.
